Ethyl acetate is the ester of ethanol and acetic acid.
Ester - Formed by reaction between an acid and an alcohol with elimination of water.

General Application: A colourless volatile flammable liquid, CH₃COOC₂H₅, used in perfumes, flavourings, lacquers, pharmaceuticals, ink , paint , plastic and rayon etc as a general solvent.
